What are some affordable around-the-ear headphones?

Looking for affordable bass-heavy headphones (Under $100)?

  • So I'm looking around for some new headphones on the internet. My absolute maximum is $100. Originally, I was interested in the Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones, but after watching a review, apparently they aren't that great with bass heavy songs like dubstep and trance. I mean, I listen to all types of music, and they don't have to solely be for dubstep, but when I listen to songs with a lot of bass, I don't want to be disappointed. Of course, the best quality is preferred, and no, I don't want SkullCandy or Beats by Dre. None of those other popular brands that don't deliver when it comes to quality. (As for style, I'm looking for something similar to the Sennheiser one's I stated above, I really like their design) Thanks :)

    I've got the perfect solution for you. I have them and they are called Sony MDRXB-500. They are amazing, and only $50.00. I've had them for a year now, and they are amazing.

you can check out Sony MDR-XB700 Extra Bass Headphones For the money paid, they sound ABSOLUTELY incredible! Very superb bass response for the low notes and very clear mids and highs. Let a rap or hip hop song play on these cans with the bass beefed up and the muffs will vibrate on your head.

The above poster's suggestion isn't half bad. With some EQ, they can get decent for bass heads (not subwoofer loud, but still decent). If you're going to run your headphones from your iPod, you should also factor in the cost of a portable amp such as the FiiO e7 (or an amp that has a bass boost function - EQ settings on the iPod SUCK).
