How To Make Braclets With Names?

In manga, do Japanese names always have to make sense?

  • I've been working on a japanese inspired manga for a few years now but I spoke with one of my japanese friends and she told me some of the names of the characters don't make sense except she's 30, no offense to all 30 year olds but a lot of adults don't understand the terms of manga and all its weird concepts so I thought she probably didn't know much about manga which is why it didn't make sense to her, plus it was in romanji. Anyways I am using a Katakana converter to convert random names into Japanese for example one of my character is named ヒバックー Hibaku and another one レオパード (leopard) and so on... some names though have meanings I used Jisho and many other sites to look for meanigns of names and such but I don't know if I'm truly doign this right? Is making up names the right thing to do ? I use a translater to see what the name sounds like pronounced but im not sure if this is all wrong! any tips! do these names sound proper? (for a manga)? I don't want to find otu that I'm insulting anyone

  • Answer:

do you read death note? do you notice the nonsensical names for foreigners like near, mello, Quillsh Wammy, Mail Jeevas, etc? dont you wish they just stick to normal names like matthew and smith and jones than made up very weird names just to sound cool? well, if you dont care then dont bother. but dont get angry when japanese people laugh at you because the name to them meant ' dog poop'.
