How hard is it to get financial aid?

How did she get financial aid from an ivy league university?

  • Hi guys I have a friend who had 4 A's in Alevels and she got financial aid from Yale. We live in Pakistan and I wanna get financial aid too cuz we're not very rich.. Do they give financial aid to international students??

  • Answer:

The Ivy League schools do give financial aid to International students. All of the financial aid those schools award are to students who have applied and been accepted by them and who have the financial need. All of the Ivy League financial aid is need-based. Please understand that to be considered for financial aid, a student must first apply to the chosen Ivy League school and be accepted. This is the statement on Yale College (the undergraduate school) financial aid: [Quote] Yale admits students for their academic and personal promise without regard to their ability to pay. Concern about cost should not keep students from applying. 100% of demonstrated need will be met. [End quote] Source: http://admissions.yale.edu/financial-aid Please understand that the Ivy League schools are very selective in who is accepted. For example, for the 2011-12 school year, Yale received 27,283 applicants. Less than 10% of the applicants were accepted: 2,109. The 2011-12 1st year class enrollment was 1,351. Plus, she must fund the cost of her travel to New Haven, Connecticut and Yale. And, she must have documentation proving she has all the funds to not only cover her education costs but all of her living costs while studying and living in the USA.
