How to stop taking xanax?

I take .5 ml of xanax nightly to help me sleep, can i expect withdraw symptoms if i stop taking it after an ex?

  • Will i experience withdrawl syptoms if i stop taking this drug after and extended period of time since it has such a short 1/2 life 8 - 12 hours? Would not this drug be basically out of my system by the next morning if just taken at night?

  • Answer:

idk what your medical history is, but .5 mg of xanax shouldn't really be necessary just to go to sleep. You should try something with less addictive potential and fewer negative side effects..i have trouble sleeping sometimes too and i just take OTC unisom. it works great and you can't really get addicted. It depends how long you've been taking it, but yes you can experience withdraw symptoms after taking this drug.

Talk to your doctor about quitting it, don't just up and quit. As for experiencing withdrawals, it depends on how long you have been taking it. It's different for e
