What should I do with the old charger?

My laptop charger only works sometimes?

  • It started yesterday afternoon. My laptop is plugged in but it only charges some of the time. I have to keep my laptop at a certain angle so the charger falls right otherwise it stops working. I'm not really sure what is going on because the charger is only a few months old and my laptop is not having any other issues. Nothing happened to it or anything so I am rather confused. Since I am a college student I need my laptop to be working in order to do the work for my classes. I am starting classes again in 3 weeks so I need to figure out it there is something wrong with the charger or with the laptop. I am really hoping it is the charger so I don't have to put out the money to buy a new computer but if I have to I have to I suppose. I don't know much about how the computer and charger actually work so I'm sorry that I don't have many details. Please just give your opinion on what is wrong if you have an educated guess? And please explain things so that I will understand? Thank you!

  • Answer:

The plug or socket may loose and not making good contact. Take a good look at both. Hold the plug while moving the cable around to see where the bad place is... You may have to replace the power supply, or have to have the socket replaced. good luck...
