How to prepare for an interview?

Interview at Macy's? Advice on how I should prepare?

  • I have a interview with Macy's on Monday, Memorial Day, so how should I prepare? I'm being interviewed for Macy's Retail Support Associate, Flex team. What kinds of questions will be asked and how should I dress? I've been searching around but I just want to get more input. Also, how will I know if I have a group interview or a one on one interview? This is my first time getting a interview so I don't really know all too much. Thank you!

  • Answer:

expect a one on one interview and if you do good a follow up interview. here are some tips that if you follow i can almost promise you that you will get the job 1 maintain eye contact 2 dont talk too much ! 3 You will be asked questions about scenerios of how you went above the call of duty for a certain customer, be prepared with your answer before you go to the interview. 4 dont be nervous infact take the interview with as much aloofness as possible while still maintaining a profesionial experience. also dont make it seem like you dont want the job, even if its not the greatest job in the world your duty is to make it seem like your really really want and need this job. 5 relate to the interviewer in any way you can, if your interviewer is talking about some experience try to relate to them but be real. 6 dress nicely but dont dress to the point your not comfortable. the idea is to make a great impression but if a suit makes you so uncomfortable that it makes it hard to answer the question try dressing down just a little.

Most important in interviews is eye contact with the interviewer. Dress in a professional way, simple, clean, not too many jewelry. Note ahead of time your strengths such as being organized and your weaknesses [very inquisitive is one but it could be a strength). Do not fuss, listen carefully, appear very interested. When interviewer is talking to you, look at him directly, maintain that eye contact at all times. There could be just one to talk to you, more than one, or go from one to the next. Prepare to be asked your education or experience.

Go to Macy's and take notice of how their sales people dress. Most if not all questions will be customer service related. The hardest ones will be the ones that make you take a look at yourself. Be yourself. That's who they want to see. The interview is also to see if you like it there. Look into your heart. Inside all of us is that person we are that we like to be and we know because people like that person too. You need to summon that person even if just for half an hour because that person is gonna get you hired. The other person, you know the one that is easily scared, well that one won't help you. You have to show your positive and confident side. Good luck.
