"Childhood memories" in French?

Why do childhood memories feel so.... Unreal?...?

• It's weird. I cannot describe it, but when I think of myself when I was 7, (which I can remember quite well) my memories feel... Fake... Like, I can remember opening up my first game boy colour for my birthday aged 8. I can remember it all too well. But when I think back about it, it feels like it never really happened! In fact, it feels like a distant memory from something else! I feel as though I am younger, in my memories body, thinking. So, why is it that all my distant memories seem to just not feel real? I could look back on my birthday and remember what happened, how I felt etc. but it feels as though it did not happen. And if it did, it felt like it was absolutely ages ago! It feels almost as though I can only think clearly about something that happened in the last three years! It's like my childhood went by so quickly that my memories aren't real enough... I can't describe it well. So...

  For me i can no longer differentiate between a childhood memory and my imagination. Things that i thought use to happen no longer seem like it did but i cannot verify it with anyone so i guess it remains a mystery. - - - Interesting... ? - - -
