How long does it take for them to mail my DMV ID?

How long will it take me to receive my California ID in the mail?

• I applied for my California ID on Monday 5.21.2012. I was told by the lady that I should expect to receive it in the mail in 2 weeks. I have an appointment with Homeland Security on June 5,2012 to get my biometrics done for my green card and I am required to bring an ID to be able to go through security. The problem is if it takes two weeks I won't get my ID until the day of my appointment or the next day which means if I fail to show up without ID my case will be considered abandoned and I will have to reapply which I really don't want to go through that whole process again. The DMV didn't give me a temporary ID or anything to use until I receive the one in the mail.Does it really take 2 weeks? Where is the ID card being mailed from? I live in Sacramento. Does it just depend on where you live?

  It took me over 3 months to get my new California ID, as they have now the ones that comply with the Real ID Act and they are being made in Connecticut. You'll have to figure out a way to proof that you are who you claim you are.
