How do I get rid of the WhiteSmoke Translator Virus?

Macbook virus??????!?

  • I have a white Macbook pro from 2009. For about 6 months it has been acting very strange. Downloads don't work, it responds very slow sometimes, and at least once a day websites like twitter, youtube, facebook, tumblr, etc. it says "Invalid URL" or "do not proceed" when they are safe and secure websites. Nothing is wrong with my internet connection. I just want to scan it for a virus and get rid of this! Also my safari and google chrome now use a software called "iSearch Whitesmoke" as the search engine and I don't know where this came from....This is so frustrating! Someone please tell me how to get rid of these bugs or whatever they are! Thank you so much.
