Where are the best camp ground between Iowa and Florida?

Campground on the beach in Florida?

  • I have been doing some research to try and find a campground that is either located on the beach or just across the street from the beach in Florida. We are hoping to locate a cg that we can at least gives views of the beach from our site. Does anyone know of a camp ground or rv resort that sounds simular? Thanks in advance.

    Gamble Rogers memorial State Park at Flagler Beach is a great place. The sites are literally right on the beach. It's about 50 yards or less to the water. Across the road from the campground is the park with hiking trails and a boat dock on the ICW. We stayed there in 2010 for 3 nights in May. I think the site was about $33 per night.

Check out the Florida State Parks website. Even if your site isn't right on the beach, it will likely be within walking distance.

First one that comes to mind is Bahia Honda in the Keys. Next would be Sebastian Inlet State Park or Longpoint Park Campground (also in Sebastian.) Also Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine is really close to beach. It is woods camping but walking trail to shore.

Yes, there's one called Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral. It's really nice and right on the beach. It's right by the Ron Jon's resort.Here's the website. http://www.jettypark.org/
