I need help deciding on a major in the medical field.

Need Help On Deciding a College Major to Pursue?

• Help)... Undecided about College Major? I need some help on deciding what major is best for me to pursue. I have been undecided for the longest, as there are so many things I'm strongly passionate about; and could see myself doing for the rest of my life. At the moment, I'm considering Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Yet, so many individuals including counselors at my community college have twisted their noses and shook their heads when I mention psychology. It makes me feel as if Psychology is not the best field to go into.. Nevertheless; I'm very passionated about being able to help others. I would love being in a profession where I can assist others or merely counsel others. I want individuals to not only recognize their problems or negative pattern in life, but as well how to make better decisions so that they can live a more enjoyable loving life. I aim to help those who are especially underprivileged or those who are ex-offenders. I strongly believe in dedicating time towards supporting the well-being of other individuals. I desire, one day to be able to prevent or merely resolve such familiar problems that affect not only other individuals, but their families and society as well. Importantly, I love the excitement which comes from being able to solve things such as crimes or difficult cases. I could see myself being apart of a team that works to analyze a crime scene, or etc.. Likewise, I also see myself counseling individuals or couples, etc. So far, I'm thinking Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work. Is there a major which combines aspects from all of these fields. Meaning, what would be a great degree/major to pursue if I want to find a job that combines all these areas? Thanks, and I hope someone is able to help me; as I already have an AA degree & will be transferring to a University in the fall for my BA.
