How to be a better sales associate in retail?

How would you ask a manager at a retail store for a part time job as a Sales Associate (16 years old)?

  • Hi. Now that its summer, I want to get a job at a mall (retail store). I was just wondering how would you ask the manager for a job. I can't just go to him and say Can I get a Job, but rather go around and get to the point. I have work experience at 2 different companies and I beleive that I'll be an asset to the company but I dont know how to structure it well. What do I EXACTLY say?? Any answers are helpful. Thanks.

  • Answer:

I would go up to the front desk as let the employee know you are looking for a job and talk to whom ever they get for you and be open and honest with them and let them know you are looking for a job ans plan to work hard and would love to work for there company. Hope this helps you out.

"Hello. Are you accepting applications? Can I have one plea? Thank you."

You could ask something like "I was wondering if you looking at hiring any staff at the moment?" Something that's getting to the point but no to pushy.

you say , "I have work experience at 2 different companies and I beleive that I'll be an asset to the company should you hire me as a sales associate." (-_-*)
