I receive more negative thoughts and chatter, and sometimes less, depending upon the moods, and external events...most of the folks says Try to be aware of your thoughts. It is usual to think in an automatic way,...i almost try to be aware of thoughts...but i can't aware which is in thoughts invisibly... How to be conscious...

Have you ever tried to stop a hurricane with a fan in your hand? Well, that's how difficult it is to stop thoughts. You cannot consciously stop thoughts. But you can stop them from bothering you. Someone said that thoughts are like people walking on the public road in front of your house. You can't stop the people from walking there but you can stop inviting them into your house. In much the same way, you cannot stop thoughts from arising and falling but you can stop clinging on to them. You can stop pondering about those things that come to your mind. As it is you are right in the midst of those thoughts. Isn't it so? You as you are, are nothing but a collection of thoughts that you have identified yourself with. You are a good man, you like a certain person, you don't like someone else, you know this and you know that, you want this and you want that, all nothing but thoughts. Thoughts make up you as you presently know yourself. Now you have to disassociate yourself from all those thoughts because in reality you are neither the body nor the mind. You are the one who are experiencing all this. Now if only you can step back, out of that public road, and stand a distance away and simply observe the thoughts without any form of participation, simply observing them coming and going, then you have done it.

If you consider it from some philosophical angle, it requires lot of physical self-discipline, mental control and social orderliness. Besides one should have some highest level of moral standards in life. One should never under-estimate the potential powers of the mind. Mind can do lot of such wonders - either this way or that way.
