What is the purpose of a purpose, what role does a purpose serve in the grander scheme of things: why direct?

its all about motivation, and what you want to achieve in yourself in life, thats why its always better to have goals because then you can be clear of the purpose of why your doing something and if its meaningful or simply a waste of time
