  • Answer:

No, Your cat can't cannot be in heat while pregnant. Its like having your period while your pregnant. My dog trys to hump my stuffed animals and I don't think that the stuffed animals are in heat So don't worry. Basically its a boy being a boy.

Your a bad person for increasing the amount of homeless animals. Also you should NOT be breeding if you don't even know what it means or how to help the animal.. To be in heat is her period, if anything (human or animal) is pregnant they can NOT have a period. At least learn basics! You should go to jail since obviously you neglect your animals.. Not to mention moraly greedy and ignorant..

You don't have an egyptian mow you have an Egyptian Mau. They can't be all that rare if you can find them on Petfinders.

Go to bed Colin. It's way past your bed time.

Nope. Not a problem at all - anymore than it is for humans to have sex during pregnancy. She's not in heat - but you know those "hormones" are pretty rascally :) Nothing to be concerned about. You sound like you've done your due diligence as a breeder by finding the babies homes in advance. Responders here are concerned however that you are breeding the kitties ( who are possibly not pedigreed ) for money, while thousands of other cats are being gassed to death in "shelters". So, just something to really think about.....

If you are giving them away for free, I really doubt you are "trying to recover a rare breed." You don't even know how to spell Egyptian Mau, and they aren't even really rare. Also, you said your cats are pure "bread." What are you saying, that they are made out of wheat? Haha. If your vet said she should have two litters before spaying, you should get a new vet. Any REPUTABLE vet would recommend spaying before the first heat. Every heat and litter greatly increases the chance of mammary tumors. If you cared at all about cats, you would have gotten them fixed instead of supporting the killing of millions of cats because of the pet overpopulation.

If you don't know what can happen during a pregnancy, then stop breeding your cat. I don't care if it is a rare breed. If you are not a professional breeder, then leave it to THEM to bring back the breed. To be in heat is, like everybody else said, to be on your period. You don't have to be a woman to breed cats. If you breed cats you shouldn't have to ask questions like this. And purebread? So like 100% bread, huh? Whole wheat? I mean I guess THAT is a rare cat breed. Edit: Mircat, you're my favorite person.

Amen!! I asked one question because my baby is about to have her first litter and all of asudden I'm the bad guy! Anyway I know that a female will mate several times to more than one partner getting pregnant with all the partners. It might just be hormones or habit

Gater

Its only possible if she miscarried. But sometimes a male will attempt to mate with a female just because she is available and of course she will comply because its her natural instinct.
