What's the .nfo file in Torrents for?

Sony TV, playback is not available. help!?

• I have sony Ex72 3D TV. I downloaded mission impossible 4 torrent. torrents name: "Mission.Impossible.Ghost.Protocol.201… description of torrent in this image: http://view.nfo.so/0/0/1/4a9986829153c52f1c4d2c986f93875c.png now i know that my TV will not play mkv format so i converted the file to mp4 (4.12 GB size). I copied the mp4 file to my usb (exFAT format) and tried to play it on my TV. There is thumbnail showing the video but when i try to play the movie TV gives the message 'playback not available' i am able to play other videos via usb and they work fine. However, my other videos are smaller like 2 GB. This is the first video that exceeds 4 GB. is that the problem? or there is some codec issues? thank you!

  There are 2 things you want to check. The first is the x264 format. VLC will play both X264 and H264. A lot of TVs and streaming devices will only work with H264. When you converted it did you do H264? The other thing is the audio. Does the TV support AC3 5.1 surround sound? When you converted it, did you keep that format if it is supported? My guess would be the first one.
