How to immigrate from the USA to Tunisia?

US L1 Visa Holder - Immigrate to Canada and return to USA?

  • I am L1-B Visa holder and needs to work in USA up to next year. Recently, received my CANADA Permanent Residence Landing documents and Need to immigrate in next three months. My question, will be there any problem while I am returning to USA in Airport either in Canada/USA? I am planning to return within two day after applying my SIN. I know many H1B visa holders were able to return to USA after their Canada immigration.

  • Answer:

Your Canadian residence shouldn't affect your USA visa status. However, you should re-post your question in the Immigration section of the Politics & Government category.

As you dance between the two countries taking advantage of various parts of the immigration process. Careful which country you are resident in or you may find your self out of both. You cannot be a resident of BOTH at the same time. Crossing records are shared by border services.

Whatever VISA you have in any where in the World, it is about your original citizenship. As long as the VISA period is valid and your passport is not expired, you are free to re-enter the intended country. So the best way is to complete your work in USA before you finally settle permanently in Canada. You need a period of physically presence of 3 years out of 5 to keep the PR status in Canada.

All you need is a valid passport so you can leave the country and come back. This doesn't affect your permanent resident status.
