Are American country singers famous and/or known in the Philippines?

Shoot! When I first read "Country Singers" I thought you meant "Real" country singers......First time I came here to the Philippines in 1973....(at least in Olangapo area) Country music was it.... Buck Owens, Johnny Horton, Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, and the sorts...That is when I first fell in Love with the Philippines and the Filipinos who LOVED (MY) music...... Now here in Cebu..38 years later....I sit with my guitar just waiting and praying I can find or meet someone who likes "COUNTRY MUSIC" but alas.........things change and so did the Philippines love for Real Country Music.... But I did teach my wife how to sing country/country Gospel (and she is pretty good at it now) so we sit at home and sing to and with each other......tis so sweet the memories that were and the dreams of the future, of a real old fashion, down home HOOT!

sometimes i play real country music , and Philipinos will not listen to it , so I will say that I think you are rare . Not much in to country but a long time fan of Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson but I'm not filipino, so sorry for butting in.

I like some country music but I am not sure how popular it is here. Maybe with the older generation. Young people seem to go for very crappy stuff lie RAP. Hip Hop is danc music but RAP is CRAP. With that said, I can remember the negative remarks to my generations music by the older generation of the time. They thought Rock music was of the devil and dancing to Rock was dirty. Rock has evolved and now there are many kinds of Rock. Speaking for myself, I like music of the 60s and Motown music. Love Ballads of the time are still favorites with me.

Apart from John Denver, Filipinos got no knowledge nor distinguish between rock and country. Myself I like the known ones all over the world, like Johnny Cash, Anne Murray some of dolly Parton Kenny Rogers, John Denver, Willie Nelson, Linda Rondstadth ! I live in Belgium, American country singers that are not internationally known are being ignored here.

Of course....Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, and some of the ones you mentioned but not all. Taylor Swift is not pure country so she gets a lot of air play.... Classic singers...Dolly Parton, Loretta lynn, George Jones, Hank Williams....not with the younger generation.

Rascal Flatts was one of my fave band, I love their song What hurts the most. and Taylor Swift was one of my fave singer. But only a few Filipino can differentiate a country song to pop, mellow, and r&b. But most of them knew this country singers or bands, if not some of their songs. Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Jack Ingram, Jewel, Kenny Rogers, LeAnn Rimes, The Band Perry, Jessie James, Billy Ray Cyrus, Alison Krauss, The Eagles (country rock) Linda Ronstadt etc...
