Can my pictures be used for ads?

Do car dealers research their used inventory at all?

  • So, I'm looking at used cars online, and I'm apalled at the lack of info on most models. As a former car salesman myself, it's infuriating when people can't be bothered to include accurate information. Some ads are lucky to even have proper pictures of the ACTUAL car. Is this difficult? Are dealers SOOOO busy they can't do a little internet research and KNOW what the f*** they're trying to sell? I seriously see ads that say "great fuel economy, big trunk, shiny, economical, roomy...". If I was selling as much as a TV, I'd try to include as much info as possible, let alone a $10,000 car. I've walked onto lots and asked the salesman general questions and he clearly had no idea and was trying to bullsh*t me. Are people this lazy? Or do buyers just jump at the first "roomy" car?

  • Answer:

It's pretty sad really almost all dealers care about today is money and closing the sale. They prefer to hire young men and women that don't have any prior car sales experience so they can teach them theiwayay of selling which i already mentioned is close the sale. Some of truly professional car salesmen have moved to a luxury car dealer where they still like their salesmen to bknowledgeablele on the car they are selling. Lexus, Infiniti, Porsche, Audi and BMW among others. Still the experienced salesmen usually only know alot about the specific brand they are selling unlestheyepreviouslyly worked at another dealer where a particular car was sold. Also i think most of the online listings are assigned to the lowest salesman in the pecking order that don't know very much.

yes they do because car dealers want to sell their car as many as they can. if the cars they are dealing with has no good image in the market and people are not willing to buy those cars then the car dealers have to face heavy loss so in order to increase the sales of the car they need to find out the main problem and as soon as possible they should be eliminated and replaced with advance services. They also research on their used inventory as how they can modify the car and provide better service to the customers. So don't worry, car dealers always do research on their used inventory. There are also some buyers who easily gets influenced by the advertisement. Now a days there are many fake advertisement. Many people gets cheated by such advertisement. So before buying the product it is the responsibility of the customer to collect information about the product that we are going to buy.

As a current car salesman, allow me to comment: * Most car dealers use packaged software to list their cars on the web. It may not have the ability to be customized to include specific features. For example, I have a Lincoln MKT on the lot which has rear bucket seats which are heated AND air conditioned, and it has a rear mini fridge. Inventory listing software may not have the ability to add those unique features. * Sales are up and inventory is turning fast. Does having a detailed, accurate description help sell more cars? Not really. The time and effort (and expense) of researching every car in a fast moving inventory just so the website shows that it has a Premium Package II or power folding side mirrors does not have a big impact on sales. It's great for the internet shopper who spends endless hours scouring the web for that one car with blind spot monitoring but doesn't help the dealer sell that car quicker. * I am living, breathing proof that great product knowledge does NOT sell more cars. All the top guns at my store know just basic stuff about cars. I know more than anyone at work and my sales are average. The customers that come in demanding someone who knows their stuff talk to me but rarely buy. Knowing a lot about cars helps answer questions but most people who come in, pump me for info, usually walk out the door and don't come back. While a demanding customer is expecting me to deliver a Master's level course on navigation system operation, another salesperson is doing a great job connecting with the customer, build rapport, establishing trust, and selling a car. One thing I have learned about being a car geek at a car dealer is that everyone wants to use you and they want your knowledge for free. Customers love it when someone can finally show them how something works, but they walk out the door and go to another dealer who had a better price or the color they liked better. Other salespeople want to pull you away from your customer so you can show THEIR customer how to sync with bluetooth. Believe me, it's better to be a little dumb when it comes to cars and vague in your internet descriptions. If a few people are annoyed that a listing is not very detailed, oh well, they probably weren't going to buy a car from you anyway. No great loss.

Then don't buy a car at THOSE dealerships. Problem solved. Quit *****!ng and move on with your life. I assume you're looking at some little sh!tty used car lot. A reputable dealership (like mine) has more information on the cars than you could ever need (specs, safety features, mechanical features...EVEN carfax reports, and etc). Not even worth the time to type in your question. If you don't like the salesman's knowledge nor the information you're getting (or LACK of information), go elsewhere. How difficult was that? Is this $10,000.00 car THAT rare that you can't find one within 50-75 miles of your location? I sincerely doubt it. Current Mazda Salesperson That is all...have a nice day :-)

Their mantra is, "Inflict what the traffic will bear." The inanimate "traffic" showing how they feel abt ppL. So part of their infliction upon you the customer is their mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, dull-eyed, self-satisfied ignorance of the product they'r selling. And then after a few years of that, they wonder why they feel burned out & demoralized. And of course, you the customer are scapegoated for that, too. This doesnt apply to the psychopaths and sociopaths who populate the ranks; they'r gleeful abt the abuse they inflict. They'r the type likely to rise to manager, etc.
