What is a good salary for a recent college graduate?

What is a nice car for a college graduate with an annual salary of $35,000?

  • I will soon be graduating from college and will be taking on a position as accountant with a salary of $35,000. My work location is not accessible by public transit and is quite a distance so I will need to get a car. What do you think is a nice, durable, cheap car with a reasonable residual value for someone like myself? I live in Vancouver, British Columbia. Thanks

  • Answer:

If you want a car that has great resale value, you should stick with the Japanese ones, but especially Toyota and Honda. If you want something that has great fuel economy, you can look into the Honda Civic, Honda Fit, Toyota Matrix, Toyota Echo, Toyota Corolla, Ford Fusion, and Ford Focus off the top of my head. Kias are poorly built pieces of garbage. If you want to buy Korean, just look at the Hyundai as they're starting to build some excellent vehicles. Stay away from Chevy because garbage is still garbage. Yes they're cheap but they're cheap for a reason.
