My pets are in bad condition, I can't make it any better, I don't want to give them away, what should I do?

You shouldn't have pets if your parents don't "want you to" spend your money on your pets. Pets need to be taken to the vet when needed, they need to be inside when cold, they need attention. They are a huge commitment and you should probably find a website like ebay or gumtree, some type of classifieds and give them away to a loving home.

you shouldn't have got these pets in the first place. before you get any pet, even a hamster you should consider - money - space - vets - vaccinations - time if you love your pets, consider rehoming them because you're not giving them the life they deserve

Dear Parents, When you take on animals you are responsible for their care. You have to do your best for them because they can't take care of themselves. We have a small crowded flat and our guinea pigs are indoors. It is not a problem. If you keep them clean they do not smell. They make everyone feel more calm and happy and relaxed which is a big thing if you live in a noisy and stressful city like we also do. I have not been to the Philippines but I have been to South East Asia and I can understand the conditions. So you just have to bring the pets indoors before they die of heatstroke,fright or fumes. If you make a C&C cage you can put it on storage boxes or some other large surface so that it doesn't take up floor space. Guinea pigs need to eat hay and you can get that from a farm or stables if there is one nearby, or by mail order. Fresh vegetables shouldn't be a problem but you must wash them in clean water as they can be contaminated with petrol fumes etc. Actual guinea pig food is useful but not essential if they are getting hay and vitamin C from vegetables. As for vet care, that is essential. If you have the money there is really no excuse. You may not think animals are worth the cost but you agreed to have them in the first place and you can't now turn round and say you will not pay for the essentials. Regular vet check ups may actually save you money. Finally, please consider the effect on your child. You are saying that animals are 'just animals'. It's not a very good example to your child or good for their emotional health and development. From 'just animals' it is easy to go to 'just a poor person' or 'just someone from a different ethnic group'. Caring for animals means caring for all creatures from a hamster to your grandmother. Would you like your child to grow up and say 'well I won't pay for my parents doctors because they are just old people'? That is just another place on the same road. Finally, you need to show kindness to your child. You are making him or her sad and you have the means to make them happy. Your child is a kind and caring person who wants to take care of these pets and like the pets themselves has no means of doing so. It is all in your power. I ask you to do the right thing. You could try to build a little house fo them and for food and stuff for them grow the food yourself they don't require much food i believe. They are low maintenance animals

"Rich" people take care of their pets. Why is your home so small? Wouldn't a "rich"person have room for their animals? Wgy cah't you order pet supplies online? You obviously have the internet to post this question. It dosen't cost much to raise hamsters and guinea pigs. I have raised them for years and it's not expensive. Give them away. You are a bad pet owner. If you really loved them you would give them away so they can have a better life than the one you're giving them. You don't need pets unless you can take care of them. I am in america with that said. get rid of the pets. you don't need them.
