How can you tell if your bearded dragon is sick?

How can I tell if my bearded dragon is a male or female?

  • I had my bearded dragon for over a year and i still dont know if its a male or female. I just call him dude untill i find out.

    It's actually not that difficult to sex a bearded dragon. On the underside of their tail, where their vent is, you'll either see a single bulge (or none) or two separate bulges. If you see two separate bulges, you have a male. If you see one or none, you probably have a female. The males technically don't have a penis. They have two hemipenes. lol dont listen to that guy. Male bearded dragons will have two bumps right above their vent (butthole) while femals obviously do not. Male bearded dragons do not have a penis. http://www.beardeddragon.org/articles/sexing/ Here you go! :)

There really isn't a safe way to tell on your own, especially if you're no expert. Take him to a professional, or the vet and they will probe him for you. They'll be able to tell you then. Hope this helped!

well if it has a beard then a male and if it has a penis then it is def. a male too.... but be careful looking they are privet about their man parts
