How can I use my Sony HDR XR100 Handycam as a webcam?

• Hello Friend ! Please help me. I have a Sony HDR XR100 Handycam and 2 computers one is Mac and One is Windows. How can i use my handycam as a webcam. When i connect my handycam with my computer it connects as a hard-disk. please help me.

  Very few USB camcorder can be used as a webcam, whereas all MiniDV tape camcorder that hooke by firewire to IEE1394 port can be a webcam. To check if you one of the lucky few who can do this, hook your camcorder to the computer. TYurn camcorder on, like your going to shoot a flick, but do not press record. Make it the PC with windows. open Windows Live messenger, sign in, go to settings go to audio and video settings, see if you can detect camcorder. Or you can open my computer and see if camcorder icon is there. left click on the icon and open camcorder. If a window appears showing you what the camcroder sees, your good to go. If not, sorry, join the millions of others who thought their purchase of a HD camcorder was so great.
