How to install wordpress on a personal website?

• I am a beginning web designer and I have recently learned about Wordpress. I want to include it on a web page I'm making for my first client. I realize it runs off a database which I had no idea what that was until I learned about Wordpress. I've been looking up videos and reading forums to create a testing database for myself to practice on. but all the time spent trying to set up a database, eventually ended up being a waste because it didn't work [I got a #1045 error (cannot login to MySQL server) on phpMyAdmin login after I tried configuring it and watching a youtube tutorial] or I'm just too confused on what I am doing. Now I'm stuck at the point where I have Wordpress downloaded and need to be able to practice its installation before I do it on my client's website. I need help and direction on how I may do this please. thanks

  Do you have personal webspace? Something like this should be done on your own site b4 attempting on someone else's site. Setting up wordpress is very easy. Upload to your webspace, create mysql account, password, user name, give full privileges... Go to your wordpress index page and enter the information, mysql, user names, pasword... finished. Don't worry about the data base, phpMyAdmin, (right now), there's nothing there for a beginner to work with.
