Jaw pain from piercing. Is it ok?

Jaw pain from fight, should i get it looked at?

  • ok so i was in a fight about a week and a half ago. the person managed to hit my jaw while it was unclenched for some reason... and once it was hit, i heard in my ear a loud... almost like your tearing cloth like a t shirt. in my jaw. and heard it each time i was hit. that side is STILL severely tender and its a struggle to get it open to eat even a hot dog. i can, just with some concentration and a few winces of pain. (i cant stop my love of food just because of a little jaw pain) i knew i would be sore for a while, but any idea what 1. i heard tearing 2. recovery time. and 3. if i should get my jaw looked at....just wondering.

  • Answer:

Try applying some ice, it can help relieve the soar pain. Also you should go to a doctor, They can look at it; and depending on the wound they can determine your recovery time. But for now, be gentle with your jaw, rinse gently to avoid pain. It might be swollen, so be cautious of what you eat and when you touch it. But you should really show your doctor for more care instructions. Eat some soft foods that don't require A lot of chewing like soup (But not too hot!), smoothies, yogurt, pudding, jello, etc. Also take some tylenol for more pain. (Be careful of how many you take.) Hope it feels better! :)

For 1: This might be the muscle in your jaw ripping For 2: If the first one is true could take about a month depending on the severity For 3: You should defiantly get it looked at (could be serious)
