Math placement and pursuing engineering.

Hi i really need answers on this please. Okay right now i'm in college pursuing a computer engineering?

  • technology bachelor degree but my real plan was to go for computer engineering itself, i already have like 30 credits towards my computer engineering technology program but i was writing other's school that have computer engineering about how to transfers and most of them are telling me that most of my credit won't transfer besides my math, physics and English credit. That means i will lose a lot of credit. A LOT!( cost moneyy) so i am just wondering is there any real difference between a computer engineer and a computer engineering technology? and how much do each make per year?

  • Answer:

It would be lovely if the colleges would agree on the titles for these majors but they seem to vary from school to school. Computing Engineering usually deals with the design of hardware. Computer Engineering Technology? Who knows what that is. I looked it up and a few schools offer it but I have no idea what the career objective is. It looked very similar to Computer Engineering with a hardware emphasis. So I'm not sure what your career objective is but up until your junior year begins you should not lose a lot of credits. You need to check other schools and see if you will experience the same credit loss. I guess I'm not exactly clear on why you are wanting to change. Best wishes!
