How do I set up a xbox 360 controller for PC?

• I have a wired afterglow controller and I want to use it for COD: world at war and super meat boy. If possible I don't want to pay for anything.

  The controller itself should work automatically (auto installing drivers, etc) Now some PC games don't have support built in such as CoD, but I know for a fact that Super Meat Boy should recognize the controller on it's own, if you're having problems just make sure the controller is plugged in before you launch the game. I have the game and the controller works really well with it. As for Call of Duty you'll have to use a program called Xpadder to map your buttons out in order to use it in the game. It's free and very useful. However, I don't recommend you use it to play on Multiplayer because the speed of the mouse and keyboard will destroy any person using a controller.
