What qualifications do I need to become a Draughtsman (mechanical)?
-
I am wanting to become a Draughtsman (mechanical drawings) but struggling to get an apprenticeship anywhere. So I am wanting to go through some books and pay to do some tests myself. Just wondering what qualifications I would need and work books can be recommended. This is just an idea I had I can understand if it simply won't work. I also know I will need experience but I am sure it should be easy to ask to work for free with the qualifications for a company just to gain experience.

Aim for level 2 maths, literature, IT (ECDL or similar) and study hands on with the latest autoCAD software you can get (autoCAD is the industry standard)
