Could someone please help me with my transition sentence?

• This is how my paragraph ends. Johnny told me, “Some of the medications I’ve taken before I found the perfect one forced me into the state of apathy. I would have no passion or pity for anything! I felt like a robot. From time to time, Johnny experiences several mood swings, from sad to happy, happy to sad, but that didn’t stop him from excelling at school. It seems nothing would be able to stop his determination to accomplish his goals.(Add transition sentence here) Then my next paragraph starts off like this.. I'm not done yet so I'll just copy and paste what I have. “People don’t understand how hard I try, I have to put in more effort and calm myself down when I’m in the state of mania or depression. It’s not easy but maintaining my status as an average person is mandatory to me. I try really hard at everything I do; especially hiding any mood that I would have that would inhibit me from being normal." I don't fully understand the concept of a transition sentence... so could someone give me an example or make a transition sentence for my essay?

People don’t understand how hard I try, putting in so much effort and calming myself down when I’m in the grasp of mania or depression. It’s not easy, but maintaining my status as an average person is mandatory to me. I try really hard at everything I do, especially hiding any mood that might inhibit me from being normal.
