How does the stock market work? how should I work it?

  • I've always been curious about the stock market. How does it work? What does it do? How much can you lose and how much can you win? I don't understand it. My boyfriend played the stock market in His Country with a few hundred dollars now he has a few thousand dollars. What do i need / have to do to get in the stock. whats all these dow nasdad etc. stand for ? What can a young person do to make a smart stock investment?

I think you need to use stock market.

You should maybe read a book to learn how the market works. I usually advise people to stay out of the market unless they can watch the market all day. Trading stocks is not investing, it is gambling. If you want to invest you should probably study mutual funds where professionals stare at the market all day and pick stocks for you. Go to Morningstar.com to learn about the market.
