Which one is better thorpe park or drayton manor?

Alon Towers Thorpe Park or Drayton Manor?

  • Hi! Thanks beforehand, me and a bunch of friends ages (17-19) are thinking of going for a day out to a theme park. But we can't decide which one to go to. If you have been to any (or all) of the above, which on would you recommended in terms of thrilling rides and just a fun day to loosen up after all our exams! Thanks!

  • Answer:

Depends what you are looking for in a day out. Both Alton Towers & Drayton Manor are based in Staffordshire, Thorpe Park in Surrey so location could be a factor. If it's pure thrill rides, check out Thorpe Park for a combination of thrill rides & water rides try Drayton Manor. Both Alton Towers & Drayton Manor can rides for all the family, Thorpe Park is very much focused on the teeenage/thrill seeking customer.

Thorpe Park in London is good because of th Saw based rides but I only really know Alton Towers but to be honest I've been to Alton Towers douzens of times, I don't think it's that great :/

Alton and Thorpe are similarly good parks, both have a big scary black ride, Oblivion and The Swarm respectively, a launch coaster, family coasters, inverted coasters etc. What Thorpe looses being located in a gravel pit to Altons gardens, makes up for in flat thrill rides, one of the best collections worldwide, and no height limits, at Thorpe the coasters are 100-205 ft wheras Altons coasters are under 60 ft. But this adds to the coasters. You get my point. Whichever is closer, Alton or Thorpe, go there, steer clear of Drayton.

Thorpe Park has the best set of big roller coasters out of all of those (and has the best big roller coaster collection in all of Europe, in fact) so if you don't care about anything other than that, go to that one. If you want the superior overall experience with a decent set of rides but also charming atmosphere, Alton Towers is the best overall.

im 17. Ive been to Thorpe park many times because i live near it and ive been Drayton Manor once or twice before. Thorpe Park is better than Drayton Manor. For me, i see Drayton Manor as being for little kids, but thats just my thoughts. I really want to go to Alton Towers, it does looks much better than Thorpe Park because of the diversity of the rides such as Air and Thirteen. And at Alton Towers, the rides look more themed than just ordinary rides at thorpe park. I know ive never been Alton Towers but it looks more thrilling and exciting. But its out of Thorpe Park and Alton Towers for me.

Alton Towers hands down, but it's actually pretty far from london, and Thorpe park is a bit closer but just as awesome.
