Where can I go to find specific white plastic shelf pins that twist into place?

• My parents had their kitchen remodeled in 1987. Their cabinetry contains metal rails with plastic shelf pins to hang the shelved. The shelf pins are getting brittle and need to be replaced. These are not typical pins, which have a longer pin that is pushed directly into the cabinet. Instead the pin is shallow and has wings on either side such that the pin is inserted with the wings pointing up and down and then twisted a quarter turn to lock into place. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find these anywhere (online, in a hardware store). Any ideas on where to find them?

OK ,,, this may not be what you want to find or see BUT ... you could use two different ways to hold the shelves in place ............ FIRST ... consider this ... you could use some small right angle support brackets and screws to hold the shelves ... SECOND idea ... drill new holes to hold the plastic or metal pins that are available today [[ at the hardware giants ]] you would want to line the new holes to be on the same level as the old pin holes so that the shelf sits in the area to cover the old holes in the sides of the shelf walls .. I hope that this gives you some new direction and will solve the problem .... XTX
