Answer:
There is a good archaeological record of the Egyptian cultures going back to the late Palaeolithic (eg Halfan culture, 18,000-15,000 BC) and Neolithic periods (eg Naqada culture, 4400–3000 BC). That's pretty old! I'm not sure how much "older" you want to get. The whole of Egypt has been the focus of intense archaeological research since the early 19th century. There are undoubtedly new discoveries still to be made; but the broad outline of the rise and development of Egyptian civilisation is reasonably well established. Since the rise of the "Hermetic Tradition" in European thinking in the 16th century, there's been a persistent idea there is something especially profound and mysterious about ancient Egypt. Originally alchemaic, the idea was carried along by romanticism, and today by disenchantment with the soulless modern world. In fact, the conventional account of ancient Egyptian history and culture is already amazing enough. There's no need to tack on spurious ideas about undiscovered civilisations or ancient aliens; in order to be transported by the wonder and majesty of ancient Egypt. For on-line materials, a great place to start is (as always) Wikipaedia. See below for some of the relevant links. There are plenty of links to further references. A classical introductory textbook for university courses in Egyptian history and archaeology is "A History of Ancient Egypt" by Nicolas Grimal. Another popular textbook is "Ancient Egypt" by David Silverman - worth it for the great photos, alone. You'd want to get a good understand the mainstream accounts of ancient Egypt, before branching off into less orthodox theories about great antiquity. I'm afraid claims about lost, hidden or concealed facts are most often made by people who don't really know what they're talking about. Hope it helps.
