A question about printable DVD R?

DVD-R Burning Question?

  • I bought a pack of DVD+R and if i burn something on it can i be able to remove it and burn something else? they are 4.7gb and RW DVD+R

  • Answer:

DVD+R and DVD-R are one time use disks. You can set up a multi-session and record several shows but they can NOT be erased and reused. Until finalized with the correct software a recorded program can be removed but the space can NOT be reused. DVD+RW and DVD-RW are erasable and re-usable and you can re-use them many times. EDIT>>>Disregard the small RW it simply means the disk is recordable. Look at the Large print on the disk if it says DVD-R or DVD +R it is one time use. EDIT 2 I have a stand alone DVD recorder with VCR combo unit. (Panasonic) in the DDVD menu function I can erase what I recorded on a DVD+R BUT even though I can erase what was on the disc the space cannot be reused. A DVD+RW is fully erasable and re-usable. If you have a computer DVD burner, it is up to the recording software and most do NOT allow erasure of a program. Only shigh end multi-session recording software allow this feature, and ONLY if the disk is NOT finalized.

Other answers

Did you buy DVD+R or DVD+RW? If DVD+RW then yes you can erase and burn again. If DVD+R that is a one shot deal. Once burnt, you cannot erase and re-burn. Addendum: Well to me if the pack says dvd+r then they are not re-writeable. What does the printing on the disk say? Does it also say dvd+r or does it say dvd+rw? If dvd+r then it is most likely not re-writeable and you cannot erase and burn again.
