How to use a PBX machine?

I have Panasonic KX-T7730 Phone Console, but do not have a PBX. Can I use this as a normal home phone?

  • I bought it without knowing that it works with PBX machine, I bought it for my small home business where only I am the one who receive calls. Please help if anyone knows how can I use it as a normal phone. When I plug in the line I get no dial tone. :( very upset I spent quite some money on it

    Define "quite some". The 7730 latest phone (KXT-7731) sells for about $160 retail and it's a Panasonic system phone, to be used with a Panasonic phone system Key Service Unit. There are alternatives or you can pay about $250 street price for a KXTA-824 cabinet that controls the phone. If you picked this up from a place that allows returns, then return it. If not, you can probably fetch $60-100 by selling it and get a single line display phone that suits your needs.

No you cannot use it as a normal phone; it's a digital phone and will not function on a standard telephone circuit. I hope you can return it.
