What are the must-see things/must-do things in Nashville, Tennessee?

I will be spending less than 24 hours in Nashville in June but I would like to get a taste of the city while I'm there. We will be driving there from Manchester on a Monday morning, staying the night in a hotel near downtown Nashville, and then leaving Tuesday morning. What are some of the things I have to see or do while in Nashville? I realize I'm working on a tight time frame on a Monday of all days but still any advice would be welcome. I will be with two friends and we are all ages 22-23.

It really depends on what you like to do. If you are into country music, take a walking tour downtown passing the honky tonks, Ryman Auditorium, and visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. If you like to shop, go to Opry Mills or the Mall at Green Hills. If you like history, visit Fort Nashborough, Carnton Plantation, Union Station Hotel, and the Ryman Auditorium.
