How do I use auto-increment within a trigger?

Is it possible to use a digital radio trigger AND pocket wizards when using multiple speedlites?

  • I am approaching a shoot soon and i need some speedlites. Problem is I only have one radio trigger units. If i connect that to one flash will i be able to use pocket wizards as well with the other speedlites i have set up?

I believe you can set it up so that you can use the other lights as slaves and they will trigger immediately when they see the first speedlight. The difference in when they fire is not a concern , its too fast to be a problem. So you really only need one speedlight that has the radio trigger on it. The other lights will need to be seen by the first light, so don't hide the other units from the first one. It really doesn't take much to trigger the other lights. All they have to see is a huge jump in light level, and its almost impossible for them to not see it. One thing to watch for though is if the other lights have a strong light already on them, like direct sun light shining on them. The sensor is already saturated and won't notice more light. its an easy fix though, just put a shade over the top of the sensor to keep the sun off of it. Heck I have used cardboard and tape.

If your other lights have built in slaves just fire the key light with the pocket wizard and let the others fire off the slaves. If they do not have slaves you can buy slaves for the lights.

Yes but get it as a set so they are sure to be compatible with one another.
