What are these flies in my house and how can I get rid of them?
-
I live in south Carolina and these tiny flies are constantly around. No matter how many I kill they keep coming back. I keep my house clean but they don't seem to care. They tend to hang out mostly in my kitchen and bathrooms. Theyre about 1/16" inch long, black, wings and silent. They don't appear to be fruit flies and I don't keep fruit, or even plants in the house. I change my garbage regularly, put bleach down drains (was told that helps clean sinks) but they keep coming. Someone please help. How can I get rid of these things for good?

Answer:
Gnats lay eggs in moist things. Maybe a potato or onion. A soda can somewhere. Where they are hovering is where it will be. Or gnats can get in around screens and through screens. Some of the dish water with some vinegar in it will attract them and drown them.
