From the looks of your question, it looks like your son has a thing for the non-virgin and you're trying to arrange him in marriage with a virgin. If that's the case, let him marry the non-virgin. His happiness comes first, not yours. It's the rest of his life, not yours.

if a person is old enough to get married, then he is old enough to make his own decision on who he marries and it has nothing to do with you ,he is not a child so keep your big nose out of his affairs, Arranged marriages should not be allowed in the UK

I would NEVER be so presumptuous as to tell my son what particular girl he must marry.....I do NOT believe in arranged marriages and I also believe that in my country, arranged marriages should be outlawed as they go against one of the foundation ideals my country was founded upon-freedom of choice....USA.

I would prefer not to know this fact about my son's wife to be. I find that a highly personal thing, and I don't consider it appropriate to be broadcast for all to hear-virgin or not. Whether she is or she isn't means nothing as to whether she can make a great wife to your son. USA

From the USA Bear in mind that arranged marriages are discouraged and even bad-mouthed in the West. It is a matter of custom. Get used to it if you live in the here, just as a Westerner would have to adopt Eastern customs were they to live in Eastern countries. Therefore, in the West, it really is generally up to the son - and the daughter, for that matter - to decide upon whom they are to marry and NOT for the parents' to decide. That is merely a matter of custom. Again, get used to this. That said, before you require proof of her virginity, look at her talents, her manners, her skills, her inheritance, her family status, education, and a host of other, more important considerations. The educated, talented, wealthy "experienced" girl might be a better match for your son than some simpering foolish, but virgin.

I would want my son to marry a woman that makes him happy and one that he loves unconditionally. I couldn't care less about her virginity. All I would care about is that he's happy with her and she makes him feel like the amazing man that he would be.

Hi, I would not care as long as he made the choices and not me. I don't have children, yet if I did, I would be more worried that I influenced his decision and chose for him. Most young women now are not virgins - My generation in the late 1980s and early 1990s were more inhibited about that kind of stuff, it is only in the last decade and over that young women have become more knowledgable about their bodies and encouraged to have sex before 16. He will be lucky to find a girl of his age (under 25) who has never had sex unless he attends a strict catholic church, yet even then it does not guarantee him a young bride of innoccence. Whether he learns about sex with someone experienced or not, is not going to matter if he doesn't want to be left on the shelf. I am amazed that a parent could ask such a question, yet moderninity has altered so much since my youth - I was just 16 in 1989, so perhaps you can relate to the years of last innoccence of youth?
