You can photograph the solar eclipse using a phone camera. But Cellphone's cameras do not have a high quality sensor to produce a good image. You may also take poor quality images using cheap digital cameras. If you seriously want to capture this event, consider a DSLR or film SLR. The price is $400 + Old film SLRs are cheaper. Regards. Rz
