How to convince my parents to let me go to horse riding lessons?

• Hi, I really really really want to take horse riding ever since i was little but my mum says no. She just says it is to expensive and yeah. I do ballet a lot and i Know i can't give up that. I have not had much experience except for being lead on a rope with a horse. I am not sure i can get a job their cause I am new to horses. This is what i want. my mum wants me to do something with my life with ballet but i know that will never be. I really really really want this so bad please please help me!

  Riding horses changed my life. After I started taking lessons, it grew and grew (as it does with most girls) into something that altered the rest of my life. I started thinking about a career as an Equine Vet, and once I graduated with a Bach in Science (concentrated in Equine Behaviour) I progressed into research instead. I lead a paper about Developmental Foal Behaviour and Responses to Mares, and the positive results opened up MANY doors for me in the Equine Industry. You MUST pursue all avenues to find you niche. Find something you love to do- and pursue it with a passion. Your parents need to be on board with you. Assuming your teen or younger, now is the time to try it all. Remember, it's YOUR life- not your mothers. (Edit: Jackie makes a good point. Money is a big issue these days, but MANY stables give free or discounted riding lessons if you help clean stalls. Ask locals barns with your mom. If you REALLY want to do it, you'll find ways to make it happen!)
