How to manage my pdf files?

I want my Adobe to open pdf files automatically, without having to first save them...?

  • I have Adobe Reader X. I can easily read .pdf files, but only if I save them first. In fact, my IE 9 initially gives me the options to "open" or "save" any pdf documents I may want to read from the internet, however when I click "open", it then forces me to "save" the document. I don't want to save, I just want Adobe to open the document. I used to be able to click on an online pdf file link and the document would open without having to physically click through the saving process. I repeat, I used to be able to auto-open pdf files. Maybe my computer was auto-saving into a temp folder without me knowing it or not. Either way, how do I configure IE 9 or Adobe Reader X to automatically open pdf files? I have searched Adobe preferences and IE options to no avail. And, please, spare me the rhetoric of, "But, you want to save them first, its better for your computer, blah, blah, blah..." I am not looking for what may be better for my computer. Analogy: I am looking for instruction on how to light a cigarette, NOT a lecture on the hazards of smoking. Thank you, AC

  • Answer:

Uninstall Adobe Reader. Re-install Adobe Reader. Enable the Adobe Reader addon in IE9 (or don't disable it when asked by IE9) Problem should be solved.
