Can I connect a Digital Audio Optical Cable from my laptop to my TV?
-
If I wanted to watch a movie on my laptop through my TV, would I connect that cable between them? Or am I suppose to get a different kind of cable?
-
Answer:
The TV's optical audio port is for audio output only, so no. If both your laptop and TV have HDMI, connect them with that. If not, you need a VGA cable for the video and a 3.5mm stereo(headphone style connector) to RCA(red/white) or 3.5mm stereo to 3.5mm stereo cable, depending on your TV's PC audio input connectors.
