How to disable alarm on 1997 F150?

Alarm reset/disable for 1997 Jetta?

  • For some reason, my alarm started going off everytime i unlocked my car with the key, opened a door, or even put the key into the ignition. Somebody disabled the horn for me by doing something under my hood near the windshield,(sorry, i don't know technical names and parts) but the alarm still technically goes off even though you can't hear it anymore. Everytime somebody opens a door the turns signals tick and don't work right for a few minutes. I don't have the lock/unlock keychain piece and the lock buttons inside the car don't work for some reason, i just have a key.. I can't afford to a VW dealership so any suggestions?! Thanks in advance.

You have a trunk latch bad or a door latch bad most likely. Even though you unlock the door with the key the BCM is getting a signal that the car is still locked. Disconnecting anything wont solve the problem. Most causes of this failure is the drivers door lock/latch. You can put one of these on and "hope" you fixed it. Otherwise it needs proper diagnosis by a VW technician.

The driver's door latch is bad. There is a switch inside it that's supposed to turn the alarm off. About $300 installed at the dealer. And by a remote, too.
