Does anyone know of a marriage that seemed doomed to fail?

A friend of ours back home was in what appeared to be the "perfect marriage". 10 years 2 children a nice home in a nice suburb and 2 late model cars. A dual income family. Typical middle class America. She was thin but cute with small breast but a nice butt and legs. I say this out of respect. He asked her once if she would consider implants. They joked about it a lot in public. Finally, she decided to do it. She got a lot of compliments and a lot of attention from men after the surgery. We had no idea and neither did he but suddenly out of nowhere she filed for a divorce. She got the house, kept the kids and got child support plus spousal support. He got to keep his BMW she kept the SUV. No, it was not me.

my sister and brother in law did eloping and well now they been trying to get divorced but he doesnt want to...since i was 14 i thought it was going to last forever but sometimes love is just love or it can be serious and last a lifetime.

My own marriage, I thought we're not going to last with our marriage. After we got married I told myself I'm not going to stay with him long time. He's 6'2, when I met him he got a very nice eyes, long eye lashes, tall, gentleman, work, tender, caring and loving. The problem is that he attracts women easily. Those days I don't speak french yet but constantly anywhere we go women are turning around us talking to him, I thought they knew each other, so when I asked what does she wants! I learned that she's flirting to my husband. We always argue that turns to bad dispute. So he justify himself that it's not his fault. Now those days have passed after so many years we're still together despite of constant turmoil. Today no more women turning around him as he aged, he'd lost his long eye lashes and wearing glasses, he gained weight but I remained slim. I used to be very jealous but now it's his turn, whenever I go out he start interrogating me not on aggressive way of course but diplomatic way. So the marriage that I thought won't last still standing and firm. However we have age gap as well of 6 years. He's physically advance compare to his age.

Yes, my sister married a jerk who was an abuser both verbally and physically. Even after I confronted him. They moved away from our family and who knows how much he abused her but she never left him. Maybe he changed maybe not. We all predicted she would leave him but somehow for some odd reason she is still with the SOB. My example of a marriage that seemed doom to fail but did not, at least not yet after some 20 odd years.
