How do I ice skate?

I can inline skate, how can I ice skate?

  • I am one of the fastest inline skaters in my league. I play roller hockey, and I am going to try ice hockey for my first time later this afternoon. I'm a horrible ice skater. How can I make ice skating easier by using roller skating? Thanks xx

    i play ice hockey but when i started couldn't get much ice time so i used to practice on roller blades, i found that there are differences (like the hockey stop etc..) but must of the stuff is very similar just give it a couple of sessions to find your feet on the ice, and you'll be flying just remember keep your head up good luck

The best thing you can do is to go to a few stick and puck times and practice edge work. Do some drills to get comfortable using both your inside and outside edges, because that is something you really can't work on with inline skates. Your stride and cross overs will be pretty much the same, but stops, pivots, and starts will be a bit different.
