Summer volunteer opportunities in CT for teens?

I am 17, and I really want to volunteer somewhere this summer in CONNECTICUT or possibly in manhattan. I am planning on majoring in EDUCATION in college, and I would really like to volunteer somewhere where I am working with children. can someone please help me out with either general ideas of places to volunteer that pertains to an education major or specific places in connecticut or manhattan to volunteer? thank you SO MUCH! remember: I would really like to be working with CHILDREN. THANK YOU!!!
