How do I increase the FPS?

How do I increase my FPS on Minecraft?

  • Hello all those that are reading this. I need help increasing my FPS on the game called "Minecraft". I have so far installed a mod called "Optifine", set everything so my FPS is my priority, and set the Javaw.exe priority to high. I have tried setting the affinity, but it just lowered my FPS and caused weird out of sync sound that was glitchy. I have a single core so I got the optifine for single core processors (the one before the preview that works for 1.2.5) and I got a VERY simple texture pack. I have 6.00Gb of RAM and my processor is an i3 intel core processor with 3.30 GHz of processing power. Does anyone know of anything (even in the slightest) that might help me? I'm using a java 32 because the java site "recommended" it even though I have a 64-bit operating system. So far my Fps went from 37 at the highest and 19 at the lowest to 64 at the highest and 29 at the lowest.. I also tried increasing the memory for Minecraft, but it doesn't seem to work.

  • Answer:

Upgrade your specs. Only thing I can think of. If you can't do that, then live with what you have. 29 at the lowest isn't THAT bad. My FPS goes below that occasionally. Shutting down programs you aren't using is a good idea as well.
