Can I suddenly be allergic to my eyeliner?

How can I tell my Mom I want to start wearing eyeliner?

  • I'm going to high school soon (I'm graduating from the 8th grade this week) and I don't wear any make up. But the problem is I want to start wearing make up!!! My Mom did buy me some mascara about a month ago but it disappeared.? Anyways I kinda only wanna wear mascara and eyeliner. And I don't think there is anyway my Mom will let me wear eyeliner. But I really wanna wear eyeliner. My problem is I don't know how to tell my Mom I wanna wear make up >.< *SIDE NOTE:* I AM allowed to go to the mall alone now so I was thinking that I can go to the mall and buy some eyeliner and then when I come back home from the mall and my Mom asks me what I bought I can tell her and then throw in the word eyeliner and say "Well, considering I'm going to high school next year, I don't wanna be the only girl not wearing make up." <----- so is that a good idea? Please help!

You can say that you aren't covering your full face right off the bat, and you're just starting with your eyes. If you like it and she likes it then you can try other makeup. She'd probably go for that. Even say you went to Dillars or some other makeup store and the woman sold it to you cheap to see if you'd like it and you couldn't turn it down. She'll understand, she's been through it before too! I started with the eyes and went to foundation and everything later on. I now wear Bare Minerals and its not too noticeable. I just didn't want to look like a put a whole new layer on my face! I hated when the family and friends were like "Are you wearing eyeliner?!", but they get over it very quickly.

Just tell her straight up. 'hey mom, since im starting highschool now, lots of people are starting to wear make up. I was wondering if maybe I could wear some too too? Not all make up, just maybe a lttle bit of eyeliner, or mascara." If she says no, beg, but dont get on your knees, juststart explaining calmly reasons why you think you should be able to wear make up. Good Luck

Here's how I started out wearing makeup. My parents were pretty strict about the subject too but one day I just asked for it, the answer was a flat out NO haha. So I went ahead and made a bet with them, won the bet, and have worn makeup ever since (that was back when I was your age too). Make it outrageous, and on the brink of impossibility, then strive your hardest for your goal. If you succeed and if your parents go for this then you'll get what you want(:

First off, don't use the words "all the other girls" or "I'm the only one". parents hate that. Just go straight out and tell her. Give some options like brown instead of black. I got started with powder, but I wanted some for a party, and when I started wearing it day to day, my mom didn't care. I'm always afraid to ask my mom things like that, but remember that she begged for those types of things too. Good luck, hope I helped!

You shouldn't be so worried about this kind of thing. Wearing make up is a part of growing up and makes you feel independent (for some people anyway). It can also make you feel incredibly confident. So I say that you go to the mall, buy an eyeliner and come home and just ask your mum what she thinks (obviously with the eye liner on). As long as you don't go overboard with the eyeliner and maybe only do the top of your eyes with a thin line, she won't mind. If anything, she'll understand and compliment you on it. Don't worry, you'll look fantastic. Go for it :)
