How do you move the ad from the top to the bottom?

Gold fish doesn't move from bottom of tank?

  • Like he swims only so far up IF i move the table he's placed on and then he swims around all crazy. People say this means he's close to death and i don't want him to die, it makes me feel sick the thought of waking up to a dead fish. He's not dead as his eyes move and every half hour or so he will move to another place in the tank. I just looked at him there and he was munching on a bit of food that was floating down by him and he was swimming a centimeter from the bottom but backwards? and his tail hit the glass and he just settled down again. He's only been in the tank less than a day but yeah that swimming backwards was the only time i saw him swim without me moving the table and when i move the table he goes all crazy and he sometimes hits his head off the gravel! Help?

This doesn't always mean that a goldfish is dying. He may just be sick. Does he have ammonia burns? Those are pretty common in goldfish, and sometimes they don't move because of it. Anyway, it's fairly easy to get treatment for those. You can identify those by looking for strange red or white marks on your fish. If it's not that, though. It could be dying, but there's a way to drag out it's life as long as you can, and who knows, maybe he'll get better and more entergetic. Just make SURE that you keep the environment clean, it's vital that you keep it the right temperature, and feed it the right kind of food (maybe a special, awesome kind that he'd swim to the top to get?) and I'm sure he'll get better. I mean, a fish usually does within a few weeks after they won't swim. But if he's swimming a little, he's probably fighting through it :) I'm sorry, I hope he gets better :)

Is he in a bowl? There's your problem. Goldfish don't belong in bowls. Not at all. They need tanks and filter. Your bowl was not cycled so the ammonia is starting to fill the tank. Please stop moving the table, that's worse that just seeing him lie there. You are scaring him and stressing him out and trying to get him to move, forcing him to eat, putting too much food in the bowl is the worst thing you could do. Do a water change. Be very calm and quiet and just take out a third of his water and replace it. Do this every day and keep the water clean, and UPGRADE! That is a must. Also, feed him only once a day to begin with, only a few flakes as he probably doesn't eat the rest. Try and get a filter and research about goldfish as they are not as easy as you thought.

I'm assuming the tank he's in is way too small since you are able to move the table he's on. A single fancy goldfish should have 30 gallons. A common goldfish should have 75 gallons. Either needs double filtration. If kept in too small a tank with no filter, they pollute the water quickly and will suffer from ammonia poisioning. Do more research before you buy a pet next time. It's not fair to the fish

His life is starting to "fade away". Try to feed it food 3 times a day. Clean its tank every 3-4 weeks. That way, it might start to look more energetic. The things u have mentioned are indicating that the fish might be unhealthy.
